...not to mention the fact that one might actually be able to re-target
the Crusoe to a binary-compatable (Strong)ARM instruction set.

...or PowerPC, or 68000-series, <insert_architecture_here>...

I wonder how easily the processor could context-switch between a
generic-computing x86 configuration and, say, a signal-processing
optimized configuration.?.
