  I've just used the twiddler a little myself, but from others'
experiences, you should be able to type decently (not sure about
rate here, but faster than a good hunt-and-peck typist) after
just a few days use.  After that, it depends on how quickly you
learn the chords and practice with it.  Count on a few months
before you're up to your current (keyboard) typing rate.
