HUDs?

Does anyone have any information or know of any on the web about making VGA
compatible Head mounted displays?  I know a Camcorder Viewfinder can be made
into an NTSC display, but I would rather have one I could use on my laptop
or desktop, rather than build a Wearable first thing.  Any retail products
under $500 would be nice also.

BTW, when are those glasses-HUD people going to come out with a product at a
reasonable price? :)
