You could probably rig something up from a notebook LCD display, though I
would probably prefer some kind of HUD projected onto the windshield.

It might be interesting to hook your car's computer into a Netwinder so
you can monitor and control your vehicle's preformance. In many models of
automobile there is much that can be done through the onboard computer.
You would probably want to keep the input as simple as possible so as not
to cause too much distraction while driving.
