I finally got a chance to get up to speed so I'm answering/ commenting on things from last week. Hope this "old news" still proves interesting to some/many. >From: Charles J Knight <> >Since the lay out for the circuitboad is not static, like commercial >SBCs, we can shape it into a wearable shape. For example, I doubt >that a large rectangle of rigid circuitry would be comfortable, even spots >of the body, would likely be much more comfortable. > >Any ideas about useful shapes and forms, if starting from scratch? > I liked the wallmart(boycott it)cooler thought someone added about using a curve in the board also make the pieces of circuit board as an irregular ellipse/egg shaped-ish shape. Think of a much less dynamically curved Pringle potato chip form. [ FYI: Pringles are shaped potato chips all the same shape sold in a vertical stack in the US and probably other countries but I wouldn't know for sure in case you were wondering] You've even got a yummy prototype to sample with at your local convenience mart. also soft cornered triangular shapes especially if they were a bit concave/convex might really work and have less waste in manufacturing. Depending on the hand of the cloth...it usually has a natural tendency to hang in a triangular folds. It might show less and find contours of the body easier( more comfortably). Examine gathers on anything in the closet. (except for that belt buckle) The person discussing a chain mail effect might look into this as an addition to his theory. also with mention to position... personal preference and use of course will dictate this but may I suggest the front of the Thorax? It's a rigid structure with less movement then most parts of the body... can hold a fair amount of weight does not get in the way of most moving parts does not impede sitting. Is the place where "extra" is stored on one half of the species (breasts) for sure as well as a little extra when thinking of the upper half of baby and beer bellies full with baby or beer without to many problems. We protect the area naturally by our learned or instinctual movements and it's very accessible to half of our digits/paws. I'm not thinking so much of vest as a thin bag that snugs on over the shoulders over the chest. It could be worn under or over clothing a little like a halter. That's my thought at present.
