The goals/restrictions: - Covert HMD to fit into shaded safety glasses - Nothing can "stick out" AT ALL besides a cable which can be disguised - Covert display must also house a video camera - Must be able to integrate my prescription eyeglass lenses, or fit over eyeglasses - Resolution and color of secondary importance, but nothing less than 30-40 cols text. - Requires graphical capability as well as text - Low power consumption (2-3W max) - Must fit a hobbyist's budget (hundreds, not thousands) - Can require extensive hacking/building to make - Want it *now* (no waiting for microoptical, etc) Tried it, did it! http://aeinnovations.com/genesis/projects/m1-hmd There are improvements that can be made. It works great (though it is custom fitted for my eyes and face) and after building it I can already think of improvements. What one person can do, another person can do! No one out there makes the HMDs you want? Make them yourself! Share your experiences and thoughts!
