Get yourself a copy of a distribution - I got one of my favorite (Mandrake 7.1) from the back of a magazine. Then, on another machine, follow it's steps to make a boot disk. Pop it into the floppy and go. Err... You never mentioned a floppy. Is there one? Is the CD drive bootable? If it is, the CD itself is bootable as well and will start you off. If not, what you need to do is something like an FTP install. Never done that. Anyone else have suggestions? ~Patrick KPJ wrote: > > REQ: Howto install on naked machine > > I have a wearable consisting of > CM/DX5 4MB 133 MHz, > MiniModule/SVG-II, > HE104 Power Supply, > 2" IBM Travelstar IDE disk, and > I also have a > CD-ROM player 32x ATAPI. > VGA screen > keyboard, and > have established contact with the BIOS. > > Now, how do I install Linux on this beast? > > I have come to my wits end, it appears. :-( > > Any suggestions, help and comments appreciated. > > /rather desperate > > -- > Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of > "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" to> Wear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.blu.org -- "Lazyness is the first step towards efficiency." - Patrick Bennett (I think) "All those who wander are not lost." -J.R.R.
