Have you ever seen those neat HUDs in fighter jets? I don't exactly know how
they do it, but I think it's kinda laser projection on some sort of luminescent
foil. However, it's not a simple reflection/refraction, since the focal point
of these HUDs is infinity, AFAIK.
In fact, car producers are experimenting with these kinds of devices, not only
as a gimmick for the rich but also as a matter of security. As posted before,
these displays have lots of advantages over normal meters.
