The Kodak DC260 and similar cameras with USB is a good choice as the USB is much faster than an ordinary serial link (even though your PDA may not have USB yet). My next wearable will most likely use the cellcomputing Plug-N-Run which has USB. If you run Linux check www.linux-usb.org, especially the manageble device list, as well as the black list. The simplest is to use the new development kernel 2.3.*. Cameras which are managed so far are Kodak DC240, DC260, DC280, DC290 DC265 and later will HP S20 and Mustek MDC800 also be managed by the kernel and gphoto.
