Dear Wear-hards: The Twiddler2 is currently on schedule for shipping on December 1st. What is the Twiddler2? The Twiddler2 differs from the Twidder1 in the following ways: 1) No drivers are required. It outputs PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 mouse. There are 2 PS/2 connectors at the end of the cable. One has keyboard signals, the other is for the mouse, but BOTH PS/2 connectors actually carry both mouse and keyboard signals. On one, the keyboard is in the primary position and on the other, the mouse is in the primary position. This allows you to plug one connector into many notebooks and have both mouse and keyboard. 2) Instead of the tilt sensor, the Twiddler2 uses the IBM trackpoint for the mouse function. It is much more intuitive to learn than the tilt sensor. Also, it is more responsive. (No lag - good for games, etc.) 3) With an optional mouse and keyboard PS/2->USB adapter ($35.00), it can be used in parallel with other mouse/keyboards and with other USB computers such as the Mac. 4) With an optional "Happy Hacking Cradle" (www.pfuca.com) (also $35.00), you can type directly into the Palm Pilot. 5) From a PC, you can download new key assignment maps over the PS/2 connection. Also, you can assign scan-codes to combinations and assign macros on-the-fly. 6) It is black. What the Twiddler2 is NOT: 1) Wireless. We built, as many of you know, a wireless Twiddler. Unfortunately, we would have had to charge over $300 each for it to make any sense to produce. So, we decided to wait for bluetooth for the wireless Twiddler3. 2) More expensive. The price is still $199.00. For those who would like to order a Twiddler2 there are 2 options: 1) Place an order on our web site and specify that you want a Twiddler2 (in the comments section). Also indicate what options you would like. We will be posting a notice on our web site about the Twiddler2 shortly, but this gives you a little advance notice. 2) Place an order, as above, and indicate that you wish to PREPAY. Your credit card will be charged immediately. Your shipment will be given priority over non-prepaid orders and you can deduct 10% from the total amount, including shipping. At any time prior to shipping, you may cancel your order and get a full refund. We are grateful to all wear-hards for your suggestions and your patience. We hope you like the Twiddler2.
