Not to sound too proud, but wearables central is probably a good place
to start, if you haven't already been there yet. Although there is
no good overview of the state of the art, there is a showcase of some
wearables people have built with links to instructions
(http://wearables.blu.org/showcase/), and links to wearable sites
with more information (http://wearables.blu.org/links.html) and links
to most of the hardware mentioned on the wear-hard list
(http://wearables.blu.org/hardwear.html). The definitive starting site
though is still MIT's site:
http://wearables.www.media.mit.edu/projects/wearables/
although some of the information is a bit outdated. The other site you
might want to check is Steve Mann's site (http://www.wearcam.org/). There
are lots of other great site out there, which I'm sure other people will
suggest.
(asking for forgiveness from anyone with similar sites not mentioned
above)
