A brand new hard-drive might be in order for maximum reliability. The best
deal I've seen is The IBM 20GN which is their very thinnest mobile HD and
featuring 2 platters normally. The single platter version of this drive
(10 gigs) is an amazing $146, shipped, from onvia.com. Great
company. You'll get it in three days. Well, oops, it's not in
stock. You'll get it in maybe a week, then.
