The PT6302A is a very small ISR (integrated switching regulator)
in a 12 pin SIP (single inline package) format. This means that
it is a single row of 12 pins. It's about the size of an eraser.

Connection is very simple, there are pins for input (from your
battery or other power source) and pins for output (to wearable
and peripherals). There is one other requirement per the data
sheet, adding a 100 MFD electroytic capacitor. You can find
these at radio shack. Please take a look at the data sheet
at www.powertends.com (which is now a texas instruments site).
I chose to mount the PT6302A on a small peice of permanent
(soldered) breadboard to make wire attachment easier. Take
a look at Steve's website www.eyetap.org for more detail.
Please use a multimeter and test the output voltage before
hooking up to anything to be sure. Note that I came across
a couple of bad PT6302As that pushed out 11 volts (always
use a multimeter before attaching!)

There is a zillion different ways. I have my regulator in
a small plastic enclosure separate from the CPU along with
a GPS receiver and microcontroller. But I could have put
it in the case with the CPU. I have my regulator mounted
on the permanent breadboard and glued it in with a hot
glue gun. This may not be ideal for heat dissipation but
it seems to work fine.

Do some experiments and figure out what works for you.
It really doesn't matter how it's laid out as long as
the connections are right, and ventilation is allowed.
