It doesn't tell how big it is (exact Joseph> dimensions) and...how do you hook it up? In addition to Doug's reply have a look at Steve Mann's site - last time I looked (yep I learned my lession) he had very clear instructions with pictures posted on using a power trends for DC to DC. I used to use a power trends and I like them a lot. It is a solid robust device, but lately I have been useing a datel. The datel gets me a little more run time. While the instructions are not up yet, you can get parts list and post script file for burning the circut board for the circut I have been using at http://www.charmed.com/charmit/ It is a compleate design that will let you swap between two dc power sources in the 7 to 15 volt range and give you 5 volt out and battery (less the diode drop) out. It does have fuses and diods that protect against hooking up batteries backwards. Personaly, I find that usefull - I have on occation, when fumbeling around at some inoportune moment, hooked up power backwards. Perhaps I have because I ahve always built in somthing to protect against that, perhaps it is just that sooner or latter everybody makes a mistake, either way, I like haveing it built in to the power supply. If you *knew* you were only going to use the sony's for power you could simply put one diode across the lines so that *if* it got wierd backwards it would short accross and the sony's chip would turn it off. But this would only work for the sony's. Hope this helps, Greg -- Greg Priest-Dorman
