The number on it is UNS-5/3-D120 BE. Is that similar to the ones you are using? If this one is suitable I might as well try it out and see how it fares against PT6302A. > It does have fuses and diods that protect against hooking up batteries > backwards. Personaly, I find that useful That is very wise. I made a grave error and roasted some parts a while back. I made the mistake of not having color coded banana jacks (bzzzt wrong answer). Big mistake. Some day I will build in that ploarity protection but for now I continue to live dangerously (but color coded). Joseph, here are a few more suggestions: - Use banana jacks for power connections, they are the only ones proven to withstand wiggling. Don't even try other varieties, I did and every single one was unreliable (for main power source). - Learn from my mistake and color code the banana plugs and jacks. Sounds obvious but stranger things have happened :) - Use stranded wire, not solid wire, because the solid wire will break if repeatedly flexed. - Get a 12 volt 2.5 amp AC/DC adapter and put banana plugs on the end, so you can run off AC power. They are cheap, so you might want to get another one for at work or wherever. - Get a cigarette lighter power cord and put banana jacks on the end. Then you can play mp3s in your car till the cows come home (or pass you in the commuter lane). ha. - If you get an AC inverter for your car that produces 120v, you can charge them sonys while driving. - Be careful, this stuff is very addictive, it tends to take over people's lives <g> Have fun, Doug
