Motherboard #1: Very happy. I liked the little bugger. Motherboard #2: Needed after my little brother decided to trip over the power cord when it was charging. What he was doing near it is beyond my comprehension. Ever seen a laptop fly, get jerked back by the power cord, release, and then hit the (hardwood) floor? Yes, it booted, but it was clearly never the same after that. Motherboard #3: @#$%&$#* Toshiba techs can't just find a way to pull the head of a broken audio plug adapter out, so they replace the motherboard. That one was fully functional. Idiocy? I'd have to say yes. Of course, if I were Toshiba, I'd've just placed a normal sized audio jack in there to begin with. In terms of general abuse, it's handled all of that like a charm, up until recently. I'm betting on humidity (New York... ugh) being to blame this time, but it's not a major nuisance (it freezes occasionally, big deal... just reboot and it's generally ok). And yes, it's a rockin' portable mp3 player, and even better with a CDPD modem for those long bus rides out of town.
