> Wear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.blu.org I've been working with the iButton/MicroLAN/1-wire network for almost a year now and have thought about their usage in the wearable computing and smarthome subworlds. The more useful chips they offer are the addressable switches and the thermometer. For anyone who's interested, Dallas Semiconductor (www.dalsemi.com) offers development APIs for the Win32 platform, and the MicroLAN family of chips can be connected through serial or parallel ports, with the proper line driver. Sadly, I don't think linux or other platforms are supported, but I don't think it would be all that difficult given the extensive documentation on the chips and their protocols.
