I dunno about mp3 but I think it will be fast enough to drive 
my LCD menus with Java and monitor my home sensors from SF ...
(it may be too slow for mp3)

I'm trying to avoid pcmcia also. I'm sticking with ricochet for 
mobile net access and wired enet LAN for now (to save footprint), 
but I'd sure like to find some kind of serial/parallel/usb/cf 
wireless enet that could replace my pcmcia radio modem ...

Well afaik it's just an IDE drive in memory card form factor, so 
it should be adaptable to the IDE port. My adapter from ampro s/b
arriving soon and I will verify this. I am expecting it to work.
