I did do this conversion with all of the other displays. The factor of 3 of which you speak generally comes from the fact that there are 3 pixels per each effective dot (RGB). The resolutions are usually easily calculable from the pixel count, and this has given me the correct numbers for every other display I looked at. However, I have never seen a display rate the lines of resolution scaled by this factor of three. There is a typo on the page, both the A35 and the A55 should be by 225, not 255. The 800*225 number is something I got from several pages advertising the display and such. I am not completely convinced this number is incorrect yet. While I agree that it makes more sense the other way, I have never seen a manufacturer lie in this particular way. I also somewhat vaguely remember there being a discussion a while back on the list which said that the 800*225 number was correct, although that could be my imagination. For the time being, I will add a disclaimer stating that I am not sure about the sony, and stating the other possible interpretation. The good thing for myself is, I don't plan on using a sony, so I personally don't care. I will however add the info, for the benefit of others who may be considering a glasstron > > Bryan > > On Sat, 2 Dec 2000, James Davidheiser wrote: > > > For those interested, I have put up a very basic page listing side-by-side > > comparisons of different prospective hackable displays.
