I don't think so, because the cable is brand new and pristine,
the connections are tight on both ends, and I get the same DMA
timeouts with NO cable at all (microdrive in CF socket on the 
motherboard) yet it works fine. I'm not too concerned about 
this at the moment though because the microdrive works fine 
in PCM-5822 CF socket. I would however like to demonstrate 
that the microdrive can be adapted directly to the IDE bus.
