wear-hards, I took my leather jacket wearable on the road to Japan and Australia in the past couple of weeks. To avoid being detained by the airport security staff, I removed the CPU, hard drive, power supply, and GPS receiver. I had some fun on the airplane by re-assembling and booting the jacket, then logging in from my laptop. I was running x-windows apps on the wearable, exporting the display to my laptop. I also tried the GPS receiver at 30,000 feet and 550mph, was able to track 5 satellites. It was also pretty cool to watch the GPS data on my sleeve display while walking around asia. We do technology shows, and the audiences in both Japan and Oz were quite fascinated with the wearable. I was interviewed by a reporter from "The Age" newspaper in Melbourne, and was told I may get on the cover (I won't believe it till I see it though). The reporter said he would send me a copy. -- Doug -- Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" toWear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.blu.org
