Hi - If you find a system here in the US, I can ship it to you. I do that sort of thing all the time. If you want a fairly simple bulky machine, you can take a 386 desktop type motherboard, put low height cards in the ISA slots, and end up with a fairly decent, if somewhat of a power hog, usable machine. (Who knows - maybe I should throw some of the spare parts here together & make one, sure have the parts other than the M1 which hasn't arrived yet.) I could probably get that whole system (motherboard, 8Mb RAM, VGA card, IDE hard drive controller, etc. put together for not much more than $50 USD including shipping to the UK (Maybe less, I'll have to look at it.) More RAM is findable (I have a source for 16Mb or 8Mb 30-pin SIMMs here locally, need to go look at them and buy 4! Just keep managing to miss them.) I think a set of 4 4Mb 30-pin SIMMs has gone as low as $25 or so (may be less now, too. I know a lot of surplus store folks.) You'd also need batteries, a DC-DC converter to convert those batteries' power to 12V and 5V, and so on. Maybe that should be a project here. Now, if someone'll just make a 640x480 Mono Nipkow display...
