Hi Doug,
i'm using White Dwarf Linux (but the same happens with RedHat 6.2) and
have compiled a
2.2.18 kernel
and
the pcmcia-cs-3.1.22 package (latest is .24, but i'm sucessfully using
.22 on other machines and this makes "moving" kernels and modules easier)
on my own.
The Elan520 PC/104 base board
MIP520
http://www.mpl.ch/
has USB (irq 11), onboard Ethernet (Intel EtherExpress 100, irq 12) and
the PCMCIA board is a
PC/104-PCMCIA-1
http://www.jumptec.de/product/data/pc104/pc_104_pcmcia1_d.html
I excluded the pre-assigned interrupts in the PCMCIA configuration.
Installation / starting the PCMCIA services with or without a card plugged
in didn't make any difference and always results in (/var/log/messages):
if i try to change the "include memory" line(s) in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts
(because of the "excluding ..." in the memory probes, that's what the
PCMCIA-HOWTO suggests) - i didn't succeed yet.
regards
ralf
there's no interrupt assigned to the i82365 module
