Wireless links

Hi, I used to be on this list a year ago, but I unsubscribed b/c I changed
isps.. however this list was a good list for some tech insight (and some
toys I haven't heard of.. :P).
I think this is one of the more appropriate places to ask this..

What kind of products are avail for a wireless data link?
Ideally, I'd like to be able to have a 128k data link between my house and a
friends house (which is about 2 miles away.)
We're seperated by several trees, at the very least.

I know about 802.11 wireless ethernet.
Great speed, but limited range. Unless you add a dish and/or an amp to boost
the power (dunno if this would work.)

I know about HAM packet radio (I have a no code tech license..)
Slow speed (1200-9600 baud, I've heard of 56k..), both sides have to be
licensed.. insecure, expensive equipment.. etc

What else is there? Ricochet 128k 'modems' sound right to me.. but I doubt
their range is up to it (and if they could actually function peer-peer..
outside the Ricochet system)

What else? 9600 baud packet link over frs radios? :P

Thanks for your time.
