Re: Wireless links

The big issue of the folks with the bucks was the current president.
He steped down early this week as a precursor to putting the handpicked
guy into the chief spot.  This is a condition of additional money and
organizational shake up.  They currently have working networks in about 12
cities.  I know I have used my trusty brick in 5 of them over the last 3
months.

The problem is that they turned marketing over to a limited number of ISPs
who do not know how to market or support the service.

The other thing that is amazing about this service is that it maintains the
link upto about 60 MPH.

Under the old plan, they had a modem pool service for $5.00 additional a
month that allowed you to dial out to local 408 or 800 area code numbers.

I used to use it to service transmitter sites at a previous employer when I
was on the road.
