You're right. And I did. I should've mentioned that.... my question should have been: Is there a *better* sound drive to use than the sb.o under Linux/Windows, as the sound quality is identical (crap). I've tried alternate cables, and multiple boards (I'm swimming in single board computers here!!)... and it's definitely not a single-board issue... it's happening across all of them, under multiple OSes. Also hooked up the Advantech PCM-5822 board and I'm getting the same sound quality - I'm wondering if it's a NS Geode / Media GX issue, as being an all-in-one CPU/media chip, the Geodes/GXs generate a lot of service level interrupts whenever they're called upon to do things like emulate VESA video, etc. It certainly affects framebuffer VESA performance under Linux, and I'm wondering if the same holds true for audio.
