i started using plastic cases last year with one version of my rig and I can
say that in the winter in NJ, static can be a problem.  I had the case open and
was mucking about and accidentally touched the plastic case, causing a reboot.
Usually I touch the chassis of my bench computer before touching anything else
when i'm configuring a new rig in the winter, to discharge myself, but I didn't
that time.  I haven't addressed the problem yet though.
