Re: richochet modems

I've been able to get two GS modems to call one another.. it works fine for
me without a ricochet network.. actually, I have also tested that since both
of my GS modems were purchased before Nov 2000, so they are letting them
dial each other over their network..

You're in luck, Doug!

Does the faster ricochets do peer-to-peer ?  Yes and no.  You
can't dial the other's serial # for a straight modem-style link like with
the old modems, but you CAN still use starmode.

There is a linux kernel driver called strip.o that is now part of
the mianstream kerner for exactly this.
