I'm running a k6-2+ 500 (2 volt) at 400mhz, and 1.9V core. I can just
get away without a fan, and I'm using quite a small heatsink. The
350mhz versions of this chip run at 1.5V, and uses 5.6w at full speed.
This table is from the k6-2+ 450 datasheet (low power version)

Core voltage operating frequ Active power
1.7v 450-200mhz 8.7-4.9w
1.6v 400-200mhz 6.9-4.2w
1.5v 350-200mhz 5.6-3.7w
1.4v 300-200mhz 4.3-2.95w

The normal k6-2+ 500 is 13.9w @ 2V 100% cpu use, 4.5w in idle mode. I
think it works out to less than @ 400mhz. (66mhz bus speed, 6x
multiplier - the m/b I'm using can only do 66mhz bus)

The k6-2+ also has 128kb of L2 cache built into the chip, which speeds
things up a lot.
