ebay was where I meant you can get them under $800, and they don't include a battery when new. They do, however, take standard sony NP-series infolithium camcorder batteries. It will probably take a little work to find one at that price, as most auctions seem to end more around the thousand dollar mark, but it can be done with patience. Buying used is always scary, no matter what the product. I am getting a sinking feeling right now that I'm getting shafted on a PC104 PCMCIA adapter I bought from ebay, paid for and hasn't arrived yet. For how much money I've saved over the years picking stuff up from ebay, though, I'll deal with an occasional bum deal. It's worth it to me, but then again I've only ever had bad experiences with things under a few hundred dollars. I'd be a bit more upset if I bought a defective cy or some such thing.
