	My first question would be what 'type' of device are you considering.... can you grade it against available devices (palm/wince/yopy etc.).

	There is a project to assemble an 'Open' Linux Palmtop, which is looks to be quite a powerful machine.

	You specifically mention communication with remote PC's, what do you mean by this??
	Options I can think off are:
		File synchronisation.
		Remote Control.

	If I were to do anything I would, of course, attempt to use open standards and re-use code....
