-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Despite having learned the default key map that comes with the Twiddler, I've decided to abandon it and go with something more natural. So far, the only thing I've found that really matches my thinking was the post from "jfm3" (Joe Miklojcik) on 2001 0327. His seems mostly a good map, except for some minor things such as the letter "s" being a 2-column chord (I'd rather have it be something easier, perhaps replacing the "f" mapping). Has anyone tried this particular key map, or others like it? If so, could you please share the good and the bad about them? Also, does anyone know if Handykey has looked into an alternative key mapping and perhaps even studied it a bit? It is obvious that a lot of thought and care went into the design of the Twiddler, so I was frankly surprised at the lack of alternatives to the default key map, which is reminescent of the QWERTY keyboard. The latter uses inertia, and the former "cognitive harmony" as rationals for an ordering that is far from being functional. Ideally, I'd like to see a way to quickly input key maps into the twiddler (yes, the auto-chord is very nice). More realistically, I'd like to see at least a couple of "alternative" key maps built into the twiddler, so you can quickly switch between major "key map" modes. The original post that contains the key mapping can be found here: http://wearables.blu.org/wear-hard-01/20011863.html Thanks in advance. I'm typing on a normal keyboard until I get a new key layout finalized, to minimize the impact on my nuerons. :) Greg Sabino Mullane - --------------------------------------------------------------- /~\ The ASCII \ / Ribbon Campaign ** X Against HTML PGP Key: 0x14964AC8 / \ Email! 200108012138 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: http://www.turnstep.com/pgp.html iQA/AwUBO2ixGrybkGcUlkrIEQJucQCgroj/7iqG+aNwTTbVK73KXpI+n58Ani3g y3fh+0hNhC1W7EX4+le5/d1E =bBXC -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Subscription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" to
