I'm not sure on power consumption, but I think it is fairly low comparatively, the CPU is RISC and radiates about 1.5w in heat dissipation. If converted to a portable application the internal power supply (which converts the 110 or 230 volt mains current to three DC voltages: 3.3V, 5V and 12V) could be discarded and replaced with a regulator to attain these voltages from a 12vdc source. -Matt.
