BTW, on the American side, Part 15 gives a maximum output to spread spectrum devices of 1 Watt (30 dBm). Directional antennas up to 6 dBi can be used. Above 6 dBi, transmitter power must be decreased from 1 Watt(30 dBm) either: 1 dB for every 1 dBi over 6 dBi for point-to-multipoint, or 1 dB for every 3 dBi over 6 dBi for point-to-point links. I've closely analyzed Cringely's 21 dBi directional yagi for a point-to-point link with Airports. Since Airports are only 15 dBm, he can add another 15 dBi before he gets to 30 dBm equivalent, so the 21dBi antenna (15 dBi + the "free" 6 dBi) is cool. Of course, I doubt the FCC would ever look into something like this unless you are breaking the golden rule of Part 15, causing interference, specifically, enough to make someone complain. -Thomas -- Subscription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" toWear-Hard Mailing List Archive (searchable): http://wearables.blu.org please, Please, *PLEASE* don't subscribe through a forward/false domain
