Okay, now I'm getting excited.... Has anybody actually found out if the poletop units are just being *abandoned*, and thus free for the taking? I live in Columbus, and the units are on top of the poles that support power lines, and I've got a friend who works for the local utility.... I'd be more than happy to have him grab two or three, so I could send a few out to some people on the list who could experiment on the units... Any thoughts, or should I maybe wait until after the auction, or ? *I need a new project like I need a hole in the head, but what the hell.... =) * -Gordon At 09:24 AM 8/15/01 -0700, you wrote: >ok, so it works out the same as breaking open my Ricochet GS and adding an >6dBi antenna.. or taking a boat 6 miles off shore and using a 600 dBi >antenna :-) > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Thomas Edwards" <> >To: <
