That be methane, or natural gas. Sorry for contributing to the confuseion.

There are several gaffes in the article you cited, which seem to imply the
journalist doesn't understand the difference between methane and methanol.

"Methane has become the fuel of choice. It is plentiful--coming mostly
from renewable resources such as decomposing garbage at landfills--and can
be compressed from a gas into a liquid, which is much easier to use."

This is garbage. At room temperature methane is a liquid only in a diamond
anvil cell, maybe.

"We are at the point where the technology has been proven," said Greg
Dolan, vice president for communications and policy at The Methanol
Institute. "Now the challenge is to prepare the fuel cells for mass
production."

Why would one mention the Methanol Institute in an article about a methane
fuel cell? Degree of separation is at least two.

Sorry for the nitpickinging, but the difference is important.
