OK, guys...
I just picked up an "as-is" laptop...may or may not work. It's a Digital
P8X
HiNote Ultra II pentium class laptop, and seems quite nice, even with the
busted screen hinge. :-) Hey, the price was right, at the flea market.
Here's the down side.
I don't have the battery or the power supply...the power supply connector
is a 3-pronged "D" shaped connector that I've not come across before,
and I can't seem to find the pinouts on the web. The battery (I thought
the
hard drive door was the battery door...) seems to have 4 connections,
which
is more than just + and -, and possibly a temperature sensor. It does
mention
NiCd, so the battery wasn't overly sophisticated like a LiPolymer. I
should
be able to hack something, given a little help.
The power specs on the bottom of the unit say that it's 11V, 2.7A but it
doesn't mention if it's AC or DC...and doesn't give the pinout.
Anyone have any ideas? I'd like to see if it works...and if not,
scavenge it
for parts. DEC (http://www.digital.com) seems to be gone.
