A single PDA should not have much affect on equiment though. And most
avionics are shielded except for their antennas (which is why they can let
you use a laptop in the air).

:picks up any transmitions (intended or not) in it and distributes them
:all over the airplane.  Any electrical wiring in the airplane will
:pickup these signals, and as such anything they are connected to can
:be effected.  It is a real bitch to squelch radiated electrical noise
:so that it won't be a problem inside a non grounded metal shell.
