I currently have dual boot setup with RH and win98, and it works fine for me. You can configure which it boots into and how long it waits before choosing the default. I don't boot much, to be honest; this computer runs 24/7, but I have never had any problems whatsoever. Redhat works well for me. Easy install, easy maintenance. I would probably recommend for newbies as the distro of choice.
