For a backpackable this would be an excellent cheap hack and would be useful for 
device control and program launch (probably be about as functional as Doug's 
Jacket mounted LCD but sunglass mounted!...also bulky). You probably wouldn't 
get that vibrant color (which comes from the camera OSD) you are after through 
this interface tho' ;)

The first thing I did with the Gsmart was photograph a 640x480 screen with font 
size LARGE to see how it looked thru the 320C. The result appeared *quite* 
usable and I keep it on the camera to remind myself that *this* is what I want.

Re: $50 color driver chip(SPCA5111A). 
I'm just a little nervous when it comes to 120+ pin 0.4mm pitch ICs (I'll get 
over it...right now the 48 pins of the Motorola MCVVQ111 are daunting 
enough!)...otherwise you are probably right. At least this chip is generally 
available (unlike the Motorola chip it seems!).
