Here are press releases for the toshiba 4 inch VGA display There are two models LTM04C380S and LTM04C387S http://www.toshiba.co.jp/about/press/1999_03/pr0801.htm http://www.toshiba.com/taec/press/to-082.shtml As far as I know, this is the smallest there is that does VGA I would like to try one. Look at the power consumption 350mW. My 6.4 inch dislay is 6 watts. Most of the small TFT panels are in the 4-6 watt range. I know Zach keeps mentioning this one. But I wonder how readable it is for text. In other words, can you use the normal fonts. You'd be surprised how much of a difference there is between 5.7 and 6.1 and 6.4 inch in terms of reading text. I am suspecting that you really won't get the 'true vga' experience in a for inch space, but I could be wrong, the only way to know is to try it. If these are only $250 that means the price has reduced 50 percent in that past year from the same distributor. Let us know what quotes you got from trident. Also note that you need the backlight inverter and data cable. The quote I got for $500 was for all three parts, the display, inverter, and cable. Trident has a data sheet in their PDF library, hmmm its for model LTM04C380K not 380S or 387S. http://www.tridentdisplays.co.uk/pdflib.shtml http://www.tridentdisplays.co.uk/cgi-gen/nph-request.pl?LTM04C380Kv10.pdf Try this instead of the above goofy email method http://home.earthlink.net/~wearable/LTM04C380Kv10.pdf Looking at the data sheet ... power suly is 3.3v ... 3v signal voltage ... the signals are basically the same as my NEC VGA display ... except ... uh oh ... rather than having separate hsynch and vsynch is has one compound synch signal on pin 4 ... that's bad news ... I don't know if this can be driven directly from PCM-5822 ... Weight is 65 grams ... current cosumption 115mA at 3.3v equals 380mA ... awesome ... Here's a board that says it supports LTM04C380S http://sies.tjsys.co.jp/en/product/tj/board/jmi-tx39io2/ -- Dougwrote: > well I got quotes for 1, 100, 500 > and it was something like 250, 220 200$ > > 4I got the fax this morning but was too busy to look at it..
