Couple of follow-ups:

The CrossPad does not support erasing notes.  This
is a show stopper for me - I'm not at perfect note
taker and I tend to need my erasers :-)

IBM use to make the ThinkPad Transnote - a P3 based
notebook mounted within a portfolio package with a
CrossPad like pad attached.  Tiger Direct has them
for $699 with Intel Pentium III 600MHz, 10GB, 64MB,
10.4" display, Windows 2000 Pro, and a right-handed
notebook
