xinput driver for original twiddler?

I have had an original twiddler (serial) for a few years.
When I bought it, I assumed the downloadadle X driver
on handykey's home page was usable. It was not, so my
twiddler has been left unused in a drawer almost since
I got it.

Searching the web for xinput and twiddler only seems
to get me to something about twiddler2 and USB.

The worst problem with the driver is that it is
unable to make my screen scroll when I move the
pointer to the edge (virtual > physical screen).

That makes most of my windows unaccessible.
