I'm looking for a page transmitter really - need it to send small amounts of data to a single location (most likely some pager network) that can be collected at a single point. The automated pages will be sent from remote locations - a modem won't be able to pull it off in my design & cell phone would be overkill for this app. Any OEM modules for pager transmitters? -Mel > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > On Fri, 5 Jul 2002wrote: > > > Is anyone aware of a module that will (with an optional pic chip) transmit serial data to a pager (doesn't matter what network - anyone's at this point.) Anything out there like this? Small form factor, obviously. > > > There is such a thing as a pager test unit that can send test > pages, but you're probably better off using a serial modem to talk to the > pager company's pager gateway. You should be able to dial it up (like a > BBS) and send a page to a pager using the TIPS(?) protocol. > > > Don Papp > http://AEinnovations.com > > GNUPG/PGP Key: http://AEinnovations.com/downloads/pubkey.html > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) > Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org > > iD8DBQE9Jnbt2KCg0hzfOnQRArmfAJ99cujXYhi2WgLdvxBZZf/Huqau2QCaAtNb > vukoKHVEl6s3FOje6F0moFQ= > =tp6I > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > > -- > Subscription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with subject of > "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" to
