suspend to disk

Is it possible to suspend to disk using the PCM-5822,
or should I just try applying the suspend to swap
patch?

In an ideal world, I'd have a pair of pins that when
bridged mean "be alive", and when open mean "suspend",
and the BIOS would just do all the work. My fallback
will be to build a small circuit to deliver some high
level signal (i.e. to kick a daemon monitoring the
parallel port or something) and remove power after
a timed delay. But really, yuck.
