Isn't that the case with vxWorks or QNX? I thought they were THE two =
biggest real-time OS's, particularly in that sort of environment.

I thought the source to WinCE was available - though not XP or NT =
Embedded.

The iPaq did Get It Right(TM), but that was hardware and possibly better =
timing. The designers did a great job picking the screen and using Flash =
ROM unlike the other devices of the time, those iPaqs can still be =
rather up to date.

I'd also suggest timing was a factor, palmtops in general were gaining =
momentum... Don't forget the Newton, great device + bad timing -> dead =
device.
