Hmmm ... first of all did you follow the ground connections
that I described in this post (different than advantech)?

The cable length must be short, maximum 18 inches total.
Longer lengths would require use of an LVDS transmitter
and receiver, or something equivalent.

It's really impossible to imagine what might be wrong,
but it took me three or more tries at making this cable
before it worked properly. Check your solder joints and
make sure they are clean. I have also noticed that if
the wires are not bundled close together this sometimes
causes noise resulting in weird effects on the screen.
