Hi Jennifer It is possible that the HMD requires dual supply, something like +5v and +15v for example or maybe only +12v. Other wires could be used as a feedback loop from the wearable that activate the display upon signal presence. For example I have a Xybernaut HMD (made by Kopin) and it has an Inverter Return pin that connects to the ground; without it the display will not power up. Isn't there a saying "Measure twice, cut the third time"?
