I got a broken camcorder off of ebay and it came yesterday. the CRT seems to work but because the camera is broken there was no image, the CRT was lit up though. The CRT setup has, the CRT, an LED, and a MIC. it has 8 wires comming off of it. The wires are, Brown, Red, Orange, yellow, green, white, black and blue. Both the black and white wires are encased together in a grey sheath. I haven't opened it up yet so I don't know whats inside. I don't a proper screw driver for that. I am probobly going to pick one up today. The CRT setup has a sticker labeled "manufactured september 1991. Also there it says "caution risk of electric shock. do not open." Is there realy that much of a riks of shock? Is it safe to handle a bare CRT with power flowing? What other safety precautions should I worry about? Once I crack the thing open I suspect it shouldn't be to hard to isolate the wires for the CRT. Also I might want to keep the mic on there. But due to weight considerations I might remove it. I don't know much about camcorder CRT's asside form the stuff on this list. I will keep you posted when I crack it open. I might even take some pics.
