wear-hard list problems

I hate to bring this to the list, but I think it's something that needs to
be addressed. I have had a personal subscription to this list from another
email address for many years. 6 months ago I switched email addresses and it
took literally a half dozen email messages to wear-hard-request before I
finally got any messages from the list. Since then there were no problems.
Then suddenly on Jan 3 when our list admin ran into problems with one
subscriber forwarding and bouncing messages my subscription was dropped. I
have been sending requests, and contacted repeatedly to ask
if there was a problem with my subscription, had I done something wrong? and
could he resubscribe me. He hasn't responded to any messages and sending
messages to wear-hard-request gives no response.

Thinking I had been blacklisted I tried having a friend of mine subscribe
and likewise they have not been subscribed and there has been no response
from the list admin or any automated system.

I can't help but wonder how many people are not able to subscribe, or have
been blacklisted, etc. Thankfully the archive has had a relatively
uninterrupted stream of messages from the list and I can always get
messages, but if this weren't the case I would be really upset over being
unable to subscribe.

Has anyone else had similar problems? Obviously if you can't subscribe you
can't respond to this messages. Is there anything we can do to improve the
list subscription/bouncing problems?
